I loved reading this book It feels like I learned something about my own culture from reading this book, about the traditions we used to hold like mummering which is now beginning to make a comeback , and about the way things were not so long ago This book is worth reading and a great addition to the bookshelf of any Newfoundlander like myself.

I liked this book for the insight it gave me into life in Newfoundland which I visited this past summer and for the way Ms Strowbridge unabashedly shares thoughts, beliefs and emotions which are close to her heart.
